PGM Bob Fisher Hung in Morgantown

Robert Fisher Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of WV  was recently

hung in the Monongalia # 10 Lodge Hall in Morgantown.  Brother Fisher served

the Grand 2007-2008.   He is noted as one of the most active Grand Masters

in all of his travels,  traveling to Sovereign Grand Lodge,  and he attended most

of all  activities of all branches  and even many local lodges all over the state.

He is noted as a person who helped local lodges  and individual members.

His main interest was low vision   He developed a special certificate of

recognition for those persons or lodges who gave to the fund.  The Low Vision

committee provides a machine which costs about $1900.00  free of charge

so persons can do normal things like doing their check book,  newspapers,

and reading  their mail.  The person does not need be a member of the Odd

Fellows or Rebekahs.   When the person is done with the machine,  they

must return the machine so it can be offered to another person.  They have

more applications for machines than machines available.  Special projects

to raise money so they can  provide more machines.  Many machines were

purchased through the Certificate in honor/memory of someone.

Mr. Fisher was noted around the state  as "Mr. Odd Fellow"  which was a title

well deserved.   Fisher visited so many other Grand Lodge Session so he might

get some ideas for WV.

The program that he used was  a Back to Basics in the lodge.  His unofficial

program was  "to serve"  his fellow man,  educate the orphan,  and to elevate the

character of man.   He showed this in his own life  and many lodges developed

this as their motto  again.

The activity in jest was a mock trail,  and they listed all of his good traits

and things he did in "his" year as Grand Master.   The  Jury voted that he should

be hung.  They placed a noose around his neck in jest that he should be hung.

The judge then said that he declared him to be hung immediately.    His Official

portrait was then unveiled.

Many persons attended the gala event from over the state of

WV.   Every branch of the order was represented,  which showed the respect of

this very, very active Odd Fellow.
